Overview
I led the end-to-end redesign of Mortgage Center’s public website—starting with early concepts, moving through wireframes and full-fidelity designs, then implementing the working front end and supporting launch.
Problem
The existing website did not effectively guide users to the right offerings, was difficult to maintain, and needed a clearer, more human-centered structure that still served business goals.
Constraints
CMS and platform constraints, stakeholder direction and goals, and the need to balance clarity for users with compliance-adjacent requirements common to the industry.
Process
- Initial meetings to define direction, priorities, and success criteria.
- Designed site flow and information architecture to prioritize user needs while mapping to offerings.
- Created wireframes and drafted core content.
- Iterated into full-color, high-fidelity designs with graphics and refined messaging.
- Developed and implemented the front end in HTML/CSS/JS within a test environment.
- Led testing and evaluation sessions for final review prior to launch.
Solution
A cleaner, more navigable experience with a scalable structure and a front end that matched the intended design system.
Impact
Qualitative impact: improved clarity and stakeholder confidence. I left before financial results were available, but the redesign established a stronger foundation for acquisition and conversion work.
Reflection
Given access to post-launch analytics, I would have continued iterating on key funnels and content hierarchy based on real user behavior.
